About this opportunity
The Trumbull County Transportation Improvement District (TCTID), in collaboration with the Trumbull County Engineer's Office, is soliciting sealed bids for a comprehensive roadway infrastructure project identified as ODOT PID 122034. The procurement focuses on constructing intersection improvements at Mines Road and State Route 46 in Howland Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. Specific project elements include constructing a left turn lane and implementing traffic signal updates, with all work to be completed in strict accordance with Ohio Department of Transportation Construction and Material Specifications (effective January 1, 2023). Bidders must demonstrate comprehensive capabilities to provide all necessary labor, equipment, and materials to execute the project precisely. The project specifications and construction plans are available for review at the Trumbull County Engineer's office, with an estimated project value of $513,211.74. The bid submission deadline is September 11, 2025, with the opportunity initially posted on August 20, 2025, providing potential contractors approximately three weeks to prepare and submit comprehensive proposals.
While the contract opportunity documentation does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements, contractors should anticipate standard Ohio Department of Transportation compliance protocols. The project will require adherence to applicable standard construction drawings, standard bridge drawings, Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control, and the State of Ohio Department of Transportation Bridge Design Manual. Potential bidders should possess significant infrastructure construction experience, particularly in roadway and intersection improvement projects. The Engineer's cost estimate suggests a mid-scale infrastructure investment, indicating that both small and medium-sized construction firms could potentially compete for the contract. Interested parties are advised to carefully review all project specifications and ensure full compliance with Ohio transportation infrastructure standards and construction specifications.
