About this opportunity

The City of College Park, located in Fulton County, Georgia, is seeking proposals for a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) project at Subrenia Willis Park through RFP No. 1106-2024. The procurement involves constructing a 30-foot wide by 60-foot long metal building that will serve multiple community functions, including a Community Center, After School Care Program, and Thrift Store. Required deliverables include a fully constructed and outfitted building with complete electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, along with insulation and assembly. Prospective contractors must demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in metal building construction and provide detailed proposals addressing the specific project requirements. Key dates for this procurement include a non-mandatory pre-bid site visit on December 6, 2024, with a deadline for questions on December 13, 2024, at 12:00 Noon EDT. The final proposal submission deadline is February 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM EDT. Evaluation criteria will likely include technical capabilities, project approach, pricing, and overall responsiveness to the RFP requirements. Successful bidders must be prepared to provide bid, performance, and payment bonds.

The RFP indicates a potential preference for local vendors located within College Park city limits, suggesting a possible set-aside or advantageous scoring for local businesses. The contract will have an initial one-year term with options for up to four additional one-year renewals. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project suggests a significant capital investment for the community facility. The City of College Park is exempt from federal and state sales taxes, which may impact overall project pricing. Contractors must submit pricing in a separate sealed envelope and should be prepared for potential comprehensive review of their qualifications, financial stability, and previous experience with similar community building projects. The procurement allows the City to reject any or all proposals, maintaining flexibility in the selection process. Interested contractors should closely monitor the City of College Park website (collegeparkga.com) and the Georgia Procurement Registry website for any additional addenda or updates to the solicitation.
