About this opportunity
Slippery Rock University of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is soliciting electronic bids for the Strain Safety Building Mechanical Room Ventilation Project (UP-486), a comprehensive construction initiative divided into three separate prime contracts. The project requires contractors to complete mechanical room ventilation improvements, including new area well construction, exterior wall modifications, HVAC system installations, and electrical power provisions. Specific contract scopes include general construction involving wall openings and yard regrading, HVAC construction for installing supply and exhaust fan systems with associated ductwork and louvers, and electrical construction for equipment power connections. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is scheduled for February 22, 2024, at 9:30 AM, located at 100 Buildings & Grounds Road in Slippery Rock, PA. Electronic bids must be submitted through PASSHE's ARIBA Sourcepoint by 1:00 PM EST on March 14, 2024, with bidders required to complete a free online registration process to access solicitation documents and submit proposals.
The solicitation does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must register on the ARIBA Sourcepoint platform to participate, which provides bid privacy and supplier confidentiality. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed, the project involves significant mechanical and electrical infrastructure improvements for the university's safety building. The procurement process requires contractors to follow Pennsylvania statutes for separate prime contractor arrangements, with a lead general contractor coordinating overall project management. Interested contractors must demonstrate capabilities in construction, HVAC systems, and electrical installations, with work to be completed to the satisfaction of the university's professional management and the State System of Higher Education. The project is located in Butler County, specifically near the Slickville CDP, and represents a targeted infrastructure enhancement for Slippery Rock University's facilities.
