About this opportunity
Columbus Consolidated Government is requesting bids for stone to be purchased on an as-needed basis under RFB No. 26-0037, with bids due June 17, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time via DemandStar and a virtual bid opening at 3:00 p.m. the same day. The contract will award to two vendors — a Primary and Secondary Contractor selected as the two lowest responsive, responsible bidders meeting specifications.
The scope covers fourteen stone classifications including #3, #34, and #5 stone; screening materials; crushed stone base; surge stone graded mix; rip-rap types; and graded aggregate base, with estimated monthly usage of approximately 200 tons. Vendors must deliver F.O.B. job site within city limits within two hours of order placement when specified; most orders will be picked up at the vendor's plant by Public Works Department employees. All pricing must include freight, shipping, handling, and delivery with no additional fees beyond quoted unit prices.
The contract term is two years with options to renew for three additional twelve-month periods. Contract pricing is fixed for the initial two-year term; vendors may request price escalation not to exceed five percent after that period with documented justification. Required insurance includes general liability of $1 million combined single limit, workers' compensation per Georgia statutory requirements, automobile liability of $1 million, and miscellaneous errors and omissions coverage of $1 million, with Columbus Consolidated Government named as additional insured.
Vendors must be E-Verify registered and comply with Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act requirements. The City is exempt from state and federal taxes and reserves the right to reject any or all bids and cancel contracts for non-performance with ten calendar days for remedy before awarding to the next low bidder. Bid response must include pricing pages, E-Verify and conflict-of-interest affidavits, federal compliance acknowledgment, business license or articles of incorporation, insurance checklist, and Form W-9.
