About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on a steel service body with integrated 3500-pound crane for installation on a 2009 Ford F350 Super Duty truck, with bids due April 28, 2009.
The scope comprises a 108-inch-long, 95¾-inch-wide galvanized steel service body with 14-gauge construction, compartmented storage on curb and street sides with adjustable shelves, and a hydraulic crane boom extending to 11 feet with manual extension to 15 feet and 360-degree rotation. The crane includes 65 feet of ¼-inch wire rope with safety hook. All hardware, latches, hinges, and locks must be stainless steel. The service body requires automotive-type finish with galvanized or galvanneal coating on steel, Ford paint code "UJ" (Sterling Gray) exterior, and white interior with minimum five-year rust-through warranty. Electrical connections must be sealed with heat shrink and protected with heavy-duty wire loom; Scotch-Lok connectors are prohibited. The vehicle includes FMVSS-compliant lighting, 8-inch recessed steel tread-plate step bumper with D-rings, drop receiver hitch rated for 10,000-pound weight carrying capacity, backup alarm, and 7-way RV-style trailer connector. Installation and delivery to Augusta are included in the bid.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder on an item-by-item or group basis as determined in the State's best interest. Bidders must submit unit and total prices using prescribed forms. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent, and award preference to in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured commodities in case of tie bids. All transportation, freight, and delivery charges must be included in pricing. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are considered in low-bid determination; shorter discounts are not. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine state sales and use taxes; bidders should quote accordingly.
