About this opportunity
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC), through the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), is seeking qualified bidders to remove and install a 300-foot guyed-supporting steel radio tower at a site in Urich, Henry County, Missouri. The procurement involves replacing an existing tower with a new tower that includes FAA-approved LED strobed lighting, specified CommScope DB224A VHF dipole antennas, feed lines, an ice bridge, waveguide ladder, climbing ladder with safety climb system, and site grounding. Additionally, the project requires installing a new 20kW LP gas generator to replace the existing unit. The bid solicitation (IFB605CO23001184) requires a 5% bid bond and detailed technical specifications, including compliance with TIA-222-G Class III structural standards and Motorola R56 grounding guidelines. Bids are due by December 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM CST, with site visits available during the week of December 12-15, 2022, by contacting Jeff Rackers at (573) 751-3738. The contract will be awarded to the lowest and best responsive bidder based on responsibility, reliability, and compliance with the invitation for bid requirements.
The solicitation encourages 10% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and 5% Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation, though these are not mandatory set-asides. No incumbent vendor is specifically identified in the documentation. The successful contractor must provide a 100% performance and payment bond, maintain comprehensive insurance coverage (including $500,000 per person/$4,000,000 per occurrence for general and automobile liability), and comply with prevailing wage requirements for Henry County under Annual Wage Order #29. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the project involves significant infrastructure replacement with precise technical specifications. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary permits, licenses, and documentation, including digital photographs, as-built drawings, and test results. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will be assessed for late completion, and the contractor must provide a one-year warranty on all materials and equipment or the standard manufacturer's warranty, whichever is greater.
