About this opportunity
The State of South Carolina's Materials Management Office is soliciting offers for a Statewide Term Contract (STC) for truck bodies across four lots—dump bodies, platform bodies, utility bodies, and slope front dump bodies—with offers due September 21, 2026, and awards potentially made to up to three responsive and responsible offerors per lot.
The scope spans four distinct product categories with detailed specifications and quantity estimates. Lot 1 (Dump Bodies) comprises 68 units in capacities from 1.5 to 10 cubic yards; Lot 2 (Platform Bodies) comprises 32 units from 8 to 14 feet; Lot 3 (Utility Bodies) comprises 104 units across eight size classifications for 1/2-ton to 1 1/2-ton vehicles; and Lot 4 (Slope Front Dump Bodies) comprises 108 units from 6.5 to 16 cubic yards. All bodies must be factory-assembled and ready for installation on state-furnished chassis. Dump bodies require AR450 or Cor-Ten steel construction with hydraulic hoist systems rated to NTEA Class standards. Platform and utility bodies must be galvanized or high-tensile steel with comprehensive DOT/FMVSS-compliant lighting, petroleum-based undercoating, and gloss black or white paint. Slope front dump bodies must use 3/16-inch AR450 steel with electric tarp systems, telescopic hydraulic hoists, and integrated cab controls for body functions, tailgate operation, snowplow, and salt spreader control. All categories require a pilot model for departmental approval before production authorization and carry 12-month warranties against defects from in-service date.
The contract runs from November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2029, with an initial one-year term and two optional one-year renewal periods. Pricing must be submitted in fixed US dollars for the initial term with no increases; renewal terms allow price adjustments with 90 days' notice subject to Producer Price Index limits. Offerors must include a 1.25% administrative fee in all pricing. Delivery is required within 30 days of purchase order receipt. The South Carolina Department of Transportation is identified as a key historical user, purchasing more than 50% of bodies under such contracts. No state or local preferences apply. Offerors must be registered South Carolina vendors and submit the Point of Contact Form and Bid Schedule with signed Cover Page documentation. The pre-bid conference is August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. via Microsoft Teams; questions are due August 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Award notification is scheduled for October 12, 2026.
