About this opportunity

The State of Idaho, specifically the Idaho State Police, is pursuing a sole source procurement for a Lafayette Polygraph Instrument through the Department of Administration's Division of Purchasing. This procurement is specifically targeted for Bonner County and involves the acquisition of specialized polygraph equipment directly from Lafayette Instrument, which has been determined to be the only qualified vendor capable of providing the required instrument. The solicitation was posted on August 8, 2024, with a response deadline of August 13, 2024, offering a narrow five-business-day window for potential vendors to challenge the sole source determination. While detailed pricing information is not explicitly provided, the procurement follows strict Idaho Code guidelines, including section 67-9221 for sole source acquisitions and section 67-9232(4) regarding vendor challenges. The procurement documents include standard terms and conditions, insurance requirements, and necessary signature pages that vendors must complete and acknowledge.

The solicitation does not appear to have specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types, though standard state procurement protocols will apply. Vendors will be required to meet comprehensive insurance requirements, including commercial general liability, commercial automobile liability, and workers' compensation coverage, with the State of Idaho and related agencies listed as additional insureds. No incumbent vendor information is specified beyond Lafayette Instrument being the sole source provider. While exact budget ranges are not disclosed, the procurement follows standard state purchasing protocols with potential for future contract extensions. Interested parties must carefully review all attached documents, including the solicitation instructions, standard terms and conditions, and insurance requirements, to ensure full compliance with state procurement regulations. Vendors seeking to challenge the sole source determination must do so within the prescribed five-business-day window following the initial publication date.
