About this opportunity

Queen Anne's County is seeking sealed bids for the Southern Kent Island Sanitary Project Phase 4, specifically the Septic Tank Effluent Pump (STEP) Installation Contract (SAN 24-01). This procurement represents the final phase of a comprehensive septic system abatement project targeting the subdivisions of Chesapeake Estates, Sunny Isle of Kent, Matapeake Estates, and the Batts Neck/Normans community. The contract involves the installation of approximately 211 STEP assemblies on private properties, including residential homes and a church, with each property presenting unique constraints and challenges that bidders must factor into their pricing. Bids will be received at the Queen Anne's County Sanitary District, located at 310 Bateau Drive, Stevensville, Maryland, with a submission deadline of August 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time, when bids will be opened publicly and read aloud. Qualified bidders are strongly encouraged to thoroughly review all available project information to adequately price the complex site-specific installation requirements.

While the procurement documents do not explicitly mention set-aside designations or specific vendor restrictions, the project appears to be a public infrastructure improvement initiative focused on addressing failing septic systems. The contract is part of a larger four-phase project that includes two construction contracts: the STEP installation contract (SAN 24-01) and a community sewer main installation contract (SAN 24-02). Although specific budget ranges are not detailed in the provided information, the extensive scope of installing 211 STEP assemblies across multiple subdivisions suggests a significant capital investment. The project involves working on private properties, which implies potential coordination with individual property owners and careful management of site-specific installation challenges. Bidders will need to demonstrate technical capability, understanding of localized installation complexities, and the capacity to work effectively within the unique geographical and infrastructural constraints of the Southern Kent Island service area.
