About this opportunity
Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM) is seeking bids for a comprehensive x-ray power source procurement and installation project in Saint Leonard, Maryland. The solicitation, designated as FM25-31, requires a contractor to supply and install a new high voltage power supply (iVario 320 4.5kW) for the x-radiography unit at the Maryland Archaeological Laboratory. Key deliverables include purchasing the power source, complete installation, removal and environmentally compliant disposal of the existing power source, and comprehensive testing and certification by a state-licensed private inspector. Contractors must ensure full compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations. The bid is due on April 16, 2025, and requires submission of multiple documents including a completed Invitation for Bid form, Bid/Proposal Affidavit, Conflict of Interest Affidavit, reference sheets, licenses/certifications, and company insurance certificates. Evaluation criteria will focus on the most favorable bid price, considering factors such as cost, contractor expertise, and project timeline. The contract duration is up to 75 days, with contractors expected to commence work within 60 calendar days of receiving the notice to proceed.
The procurement encourages participation from minority business enterprises and small businesses, with no specific set-aside designations explicitly mentioned. While no incumbent vendor is identified, the project requires integration with an existing x-ray unit and involves specific technical specifications including a 320 kV module, specialized cooler and cable requirements, and additional generator hardware and software. The state reserves the right to cancel the solicitation or reject any bids that do not meet the comprehensive requirements. Contractors must demonstrate a drug-free workplace and commitment to mercury-free products. Although a specific budget range is not provided, the detailed specification requires itemized pricing for the power source, installation, removal/disposal, and testing, suggesting a substantial investment in upgrading the archaeological laboratory's technological infrastructure. Interested contractors must carefully review all documentation and ensure full compliance with Maryland's regulatory standards and procurement guidelines.
