About this opportunity

The City of Craig, Colorado, located in Otero County, is soliciting sealed bids for two Sodium Hypochlorite Storage Tanks through a competitive bidding process. The procurement requires two vertical storage tanks, each with a 2,500-gallon capacity designed to hold 0.8% Sodium Hypochlorite, with specific technical specifications including double wall XLPE construction, 1.90 specific gravity, and NSF/ANSI 61 compliance. One tank must be single-walled and the other double-walled, with precise dimensional constraints requiring tanks to fit through an opening of 94.25" wide x 119.25" high and have a vertical height limit of 9' 11". Tank accessories and fittings must be compatible with Sodium Hypochlorite, with specific requirements for gasket materials including Viton for direct contact and EPDM for indirect contact. Key dates for this procurement include a voluntary pre-bid meeting on November 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at the City of Craig Water Treatment Plant, with questions accepted until November 20, 2025, and an addendum addressing inquiries to be issued by November 25, 2025. Sealed bids are due by 2:15 p.m. on December 2, 2025, with bid opening and public reading scheduled for that time, and potential award anticipated during the City Council meeting on December 9, 2025.

The City of Craig has not specified any specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises in this procurement. The bid requires a minimum 3-year warranty and reserves the right for the City to reject any or all bids, with the understanding that the most appropriate equipment will be selected, which may not necessarily be the lowest bid. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation. The bid packet does not specify a precise budget range or award value, leaving flexibility for competitive pricing. Potential bidders must submit proposals using the provided bid forms, addressing all technical specifications and requirements. The tanks will be used at the City of Craig Water Treatment Plant, suggesting this is part of municipal infrastructure improvement or replacement efforts. Interested vendors must carefully review the complete bid specifications and ensure full compliance with the technical requirements for Sodium Hypochlorite storage tanks.
