About this opportunity

The City of Shelton in Fairfield County, Connecticut, is soliciting bids for Sodium Hypochlorite 12%-15% (NaOCL) through an Invitation to Bid (ITB) using their OpenGov E-Procurement platform. The procurement is for Bid # 2025-26, with the bidding period running from April 10, 2025, at 7:00 AM EDT to April 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM EDT. Potential vendors must register electronically through the city's website, with no paper bids accepted. All interested vendors are eligible to respond, but must complete the online registration process, which includes carefully monitoring communications, including checking spam folders. The solicitation requires electronic submission, with delivery terms specified as Free On Board Destination. Vendors seeking assistance with electronic submission can contact Elizabeth Saint John at 203-924-1555 or schedule an appointment at the Shelton Plumb Library at 203-924-1580 if they lack computer or scanning access.

While the solicitation does not explicitly outline set-aside designations or specify restrictions on respondent types, it emphasizes an open and accessible bidding process. The procurement appears to be a standard municipal supply contract without clear indications of preferences for disadvantaged business enterprises. No incumbent vendors or existing contract details are provided in the available documentation. The bid does not include specific budget ranges or award values for the sodium hypochlorite supply. Payment terms are to be specified by the vendor, and the overall procurement seems designed to establish a supply contract for the municipal water or treatment facilities. Potential bidders should carefully review all registration requirements and ensure full compliance with the OpenGov platform submission process to be considered for the contract.
