SinterFire Ammunition

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is seeking to procure 125 cases of 9mm 100 grain frangible ammunition and 65 cases of 223 55 grain frangible ammunition from Florida Bullet, Inc., the sole authorized law enforcement distributor of SinterFire ammunition in Florida. This single-source procurement is due to independent ballistic testing that has shown SinterFire ammunition to be the most effective and safest type for training use by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), as it exhibits reduced fragmentation when fired into steel targets. The estimated dollar amount of the purchase is up to $110,000. Prospective vendors are invited to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities, and if it is determined that the ammunition is only available from a single source, the agency will provide notice of its intended decision to enter into a single-source purchase contract.

The procurement opportunity is restricted to Florida Bullet, Inc. as the sole authorized distributor of the required SinterFire ammunition in the state of Florida. There is no mention of any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. Additionally, there is no information provided about any incumbent vendors or current contractors, or any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The contract value is specified as up to $110,000.
