About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking to contract with Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. for Maintenance and Repair Services by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for Specialized Analytical Laboratory Instrumentation. The DEP requires these services to maintain critical laboratory equipment in operational condition to carry out the department's mission. Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. is identified as the sole manufacturer and service provider for the equipment, and no other vendors are authorized to provide OEM-certified repair and maintenance services. The contract term is 12 months, with the DEP seeking responses from prospective vendors by May 16, 2022. The total estimated cost for the services is $54,733.87. Maintaining this equipment is essential to the DEP Laboratories' operations, and experience has shown that OEM service contracts are necessary to ensure prompt and adequate maintenance of critical laboratory equipment.

This is a single-source procurement, as Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. is the only entity capable of providing factory-certified service and support for their instrumentation. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The DEP has not identified any incumbent vendors or current contractors, and there are no existing infrastructure or technology requirements that need to be integrated. The total award value is $54,733.87.
