About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking to contract with Aquatrak Corporation for the procurement of engineering, installation, and testing services for 150 standalone automated tide gauge sites statewide over 36 months. The installation will meet the requirements of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS) for water level station installation. The procurement is being conducted as a single source procurement pursuant to Sections 120.57(3) and 287.057(3), Florida Statutes. Prospective vendors have until October 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM ET to provide information regarding their ability to provide the requested services. If determined that the services are available only from a single source, DEP will post a notice of its intended decision to enter into an agreement with Aquatrak Corporation.

This procurement is limited to Aquatrak Corporation, a manufacturer based in Sanford, Florida, as they are the sole provider of the required products and services. Aquatrak does not utilize distributors or resellers in the state, and they offer the lowest prices, highest discounts, and free technical support to Florida customers. The total estimated cost for the procurement is $1,905,750, and it will be funded by DEP to support their statutory obligations related to tidal datum maintenance, coastal protection, and resilience efforts.
