About this opportunity
The state of Georgia, specifically Barrow County, is issuing an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) for a Nursing School Simulation Center Oxygen (Compressed Air) and Vacuum System for Georgia College & State University. This procurement opportunity is being conducted under the State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated 50-5-50 et seq.), with the primary objective of selecting one or more qualified suppliers to provide specialized medical system infrastructure. The eRFQ seeks vendors capable of supplying and potentially installing compressed air and vacuum systems specifically designed for a nursing simulation environment. The procurement process will involve a comprehensive evaluation of supplier responses, with the goal of identifying vendors who can meet the technical specifications and performance requirements of the medical simulation center. The critical dates for this procurement include a posting date of March 6, 2025, and a proposal submission deadline of March 17, 2025, giving potential vendors approximately 11 days to prepare and submit their detailed responses.
While the document does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, the procurement appears to be open to qualified suppliers who can demonstrate technical competence in medical gas and vacuum system installations. The eRFQ process indicates that after evaluating all supplier responses, preliminary results will be publicly announced, including the names of participating suppliers and evaluation outcomes. The procurement will follow a transparent selection process subject to a formal protest mechanism, with final contract awards to be publicly disclosed. Although specific budget ranges are not provided in the available documentation, the procurement suggests a specialized medical infrastructure project for a higher education institution. The contract may potentially be awarded to a single vendor or multiple suppliers, depending on the evaluation results and the state's determination of the most advantageous proposal(s) for the Nursing School Simulation Center's oxygen and vacuum system requirements.
