About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotes for side-by-side UTVs, with quotes due July 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. local time.

The solicitation references a Polaris Ranger XP 800 EPS specification — a 760cc 4-stroke twin-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection, automatic transmission with on-demand true AWD/2WD capability, dual A-arm suspension front and rear, 4-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, electronic power steering, LED lighting, digital instrumentation, and Lock & Ride cargo system. The vehicle carries a 1,500-pound payload capacity and 2,000-pound towing rating. Base pricing for this model starts at $12,299 MSRP. The solicitation also references procurement of LED lights and flashers for twelve snowmobiles, each requiring a single blue LED lighthead with external weatherproof flasher assembly operating on 12 VDC and drawing no more than 0.5 amps per lighthead, with a five-year manufacturer warranty on lightheads and two-year warranty on flasher assemblies.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value to the State, considering quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. Delivery time stated in definite terms may factor into the award decision if critical. Unit prices must be quoted separately for each item and delivered to destination inclusive of all trade or quantity discounts. Cash discounts for payment within 20 days or more will be considered in determining the low bidder; discounts under 20 days will not be considered. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes. All transportation charges, including freight, must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Electronic submission is required. The Division of Purchases reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities and technicalities, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%, and resolve tie bids by favoring in-state bidders or those offering Maine-produced commodities. Questions must be submitted through the designated Q&A link on the Solicitation Details View page.
