About this opportunity
Palm Beach County, Florida is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for crushed shell-rock material supply and delivery on an as-needed basis through a term contract. The procurement includes two distinct line items: Item 1 requires the vendor to deliver crushed shell-rock material to County locations within three calendar days of receiving a delivery order, while Item 2allows the County to pick up the material at the vendor's location. Both items carry an estimated 12-month quantity of 2,000 tons and require firm, fixed unit pricing quoted in dollars per ton. The crushed shell-rock material must not exceed 2 inches in diameter and must meet a minimum 100 Load Bearing Ratio in accordance with FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Section 913A. Quotations are due on March 1, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. local time and must be submitted via fax or email to the Palm Beach County Purchasing Department. The successful quoter will be awarded a 12-month contract with options to renew for four additional 12-month periods, subject to mutual written agreement and appropriation of funds by the Board of County Commissioners, with prices remaining firm for 90 days from the date of opening and for all contract terms.
Small, Minority, and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (S/M/WBE) are eligible to participate and receive consideration under the Equal Business Opportunity program with potential price preferences. Local preference of 5% may be applied to quoters with a permanent place of business in Palm Beach County or the Glades. All vendors and subcontractors are required to register in the Vendor Self Service (VSS) system prior to contract award. Palm Beach County is exempt from federal and state taxes, and quoters are responsible for sales tax paid to suppliers. No specific incumbent vendors, current contractors, or existing infrastructure integration requirements are identified in the RFQ documentation. The procurement does not specify a particular award value or budget range; rather, pricing will be determined through the competitive quotation process based on the submitted unit prices per ton for each line item.
