About this opportunity

The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners is seeking bids for a project to connect four fire stations to sewer mains located in the road rights-of-way in front of the stations. The work includes disconnecting the existing septic systems and installing any necessary equipment such as tanks, pumps, electrical wiring or panels, piping, trenching, grading, sodding or grassing, and any other related items to provide fully operational wastewater discharge connections to the sewer mains. Bids are due by 11:00 a.m. on June 7, 2024, and the work must be completed by October 25, 2024. A 5% bid bond is required, and if awarded the contract, a 100% performance bond and 110% payment bond will be required. The low bidder will be determined based on the base bid and any alternatives selected by the County. All materials used must be from Dalton Utilities approved suppliers.

This project is funded in part by federal dollars through Georgia's Improving Neighborhood Outcomes in Disproportionately Impacted Communities grant, so compliance with applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations is required. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. Liquidated damages will be assessed for failure to complete the work on time. The budget range for this project has not been disclosed.
