About this opportunity
The University of Connecticut has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation number MW112024 for Security Systems Infrastructure Hardware and Related Services, seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive security system solutions. The procurement covers infrastructure hardware, associated software, installation, repairs, and maintenance services across the university's main campus in Storrs and its regional campuses. Eligible vendors include resellers, value-added resellers (VARs), original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and repair/service centers with demonstrated experience in security systems infrastructure. The solicitation opens on November 20, 2024, at 5:00 PM EST and closes on December 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM EST, with proposals to be submitted through the university's HuskyBuy self-service online portal. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be specified by the vendor. The primary procurement contact is Melanie Weed from the University of Connecticut's procurement services, located at 3 Discovery Drive Unit 6076 in Storrs, Connecticut.
The RFP does not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, indicating the solicitation is open to a broad range of vendors. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no explicit details about existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements. The solicitation does not provide an estimated total contract value or specific budget range, leaving pricing and financial terms to be determined through the proposal process. While the geographical focus is Tolland County, Connecticut, the contract appears designed to support the University of Connecticut's main and regional campuses. Interested vendors are encouraged to review the complete bid documents through the HuskyBuy portal and can direct any questions to Melanie Weed at melanie.weed@uconn.edu or 860-486-2619 for additional clarification about the security systems infrastructure procurement opportunity.
