About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a qualified contractor to replace overhead doors at the SE District Mountain Grove facility located at 8675 Old Hwy 60, Mountain Grove, Missouri. The procurement involves installing twenty overhead doors, each measuring 12'2" height by 14'0" width, complete with 1/2 HP operators, photo eyes, springs, weather stripping, 3-button control stations, tracks, and springs. The contractor will be responsible for properly disposing of all debris, wiring safety lights on each operator, with MoDOT supplying power to the receptacles. The bid solicitation (IFB605CO23001076) requires contractors to submit a lump sum bid, with responses due by November 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM CST. Potential bidders were allowed to schedule site visits through November 15, 2022, and submit written questions by the same date. The project has a firm completion deadline of April 15, 2023, and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on comprehensive evaluation of the submitted bid.
The procurement encourages minority and women-owned business participation, with specific goals of 10% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and 5% Women Business Enterprise (WBE) involvement, though these are not mandatory requirements. Bidders must provide a bid bond or guaranty of 5% of the total bid amount, and the successful contractor will be required to furnish a 100% performance and payment bond. The project is subject to prevailing wage requirements for Wright County, Missouri, and contractors must comply with specific insurance requirements, including $500,000 per person/$4,000,000 per occurrence for general and automobile liability, and workers' compensation coverage. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will be assessed for late completion. While no specific budget range was explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the overhead door replacement project suggests a potentially significant investment in facility infrastructure upgrades. The contract will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed, with all work to be completed by the specified deadline.
