About this opportunity

The Georgia Department of Transportation cancelled RFQ 48400-DOT0002765 for on-call scrap metal recycling and reclamation services on April 11, 2023, due to lack of responsive bids received by the March 28, 2023 deadline.

The solicitation sought vendors to provide pickup and recycling services for scrap metal generated from replacement and repair of guardrails, light poles, signs, and other metal infrastructure components across multiple districts. Contracts were to be awarded by district, with multiple vendors eligible to win within each district. Vendors could bid on only the districts they could service and were not required to submit bids for all locations within a given district to remain eligible for consideration.

No pricing, contract term, incumbent information, or evaluation criteria were documented, as the solicitation did not proceed to completion. Materials submitted under this cancelled solicitation remain closed pending any subsequent rebid.

Opportunity text

The Department of Transportation is frequently replacing and repairing several metal parts, including but not limited to: guardrails, light poles, and signs. This results in large quantities of scrap metal that need to be disposed of. The Department is looking for a vendor(s) who can do on-call pick up and recycling for different locations in each district. Contracts will be awarded by district, but more than one vendor may win each district. Only bid on districts you can service, vendors do not need to bid on all locations for a given district to be considered for award.
