About this opportunity

The Anchor School, a public charter school in DeKalb County, Georgia, is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for School Furniture Services to support its expansion from current 6th-grade operations to grades 6-10 in the next academic year, with continued growth through 12th grade. The procurement encompasses classroom and office furniture design, delivery, and installation for Phase I (completion by July 15, 2026) and Phase II (completion by July 2027). Phase I deliverables include 25-30 desks/tables with matching chairs per classroom, double-door closets for all classrooms, backpack storage for middle school students, 45 half-lockers for high school commons, collaborative tables and seating for commons areas, and flexible seating pieces for media spaces. Phase II expands furnishing to three additional classrooms with similar requirements. Qualified School Furniture Providers must submit detailed cost estimates on a per-item, per-classroom, and per-phase basis, with proposals due by 5:00 p.m. EST on April 3, 2026. An optional site walk was scheduled for March 23, 2026, and the RFP package became available by March 17, 2026. The evaluation criteria allocate 100 points across five categories: SFP Team (10 points), Experience (25 points), Project Approach (25 points), Completeness of Submission (10 points), and Cost Estimate Alignment and Reasonableness (30 points). Contract award is expected by May 1, 2026, with the contract structured as a multi-year, multi-awarded agreement.

The RFP encourages submissions from Small Business Entities, Georgia-based businesses, Women-Owned Businesses, and Minority-Owned Businesses, though no set-aside restrictions are imposed. Proposers must demonstrate financial stability, provide three professional references, submit resumes of assigned personnel, provide work schedules for both phases, maintain current professional licenses, and disclose any contract terminations, litigation, judgments, bankruptcy filings, or suspension/debarment actions within the past five years. No incumbent vendors or specific budget range is identified in the procurement documents; however, pricing represents a substantial evaluation factor at 30 points of the total 100-point scoring system. All proposals must remain firm for 90 days following the April 3, 2026 due date, and The Anchor School reserves the right to negotiate with any proposer, reject all offers, or award to multiple vendors at its discretion.

Opportunity text

The Anchor School (TAS) is a State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia public charter school that is currently serving 6th grade scholars in the Metro Atlanta region. The school will serve grades 6-12 in south DeKalb County. In the next year of operation, the school will expand to serve grades 6-10. TAS will grow one grade per year each year thereafter until it becomes a middle and high school campus. The school has a statewide attendance zone, meaning students from anywhere in the state of Georgia can attend the school. The school model leverages community-based partnerships with families and local organizations to deliver holistic adolescent development services and project-based learning experiences to students who are developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive in school and beyond. TAS is requesting emailed proposals from qualified firms to provide School Furniture Services for the needs of the school in its second and third year of operation. This RFP is for classroom and office furniture delivery and installation for a growing student population.
