About this opportunity
Barrow County School District in Georgia is requesting proposals for school-based mental health services to support students in grades 6–12, with proposals due July 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The district reserves the right to make multiple selections and may negotiate scope, quality, and pricing with selected proposers.
Eligible applicants must hold current Georgia licensure and credentials to provide mental health services and demonstrate experience serving children and adolescents in school or community settings. Providers must deliver short-term, solution-focused individual and group counseling on-site and in-person at schools, along with crisis support and risk assessments. Services must be culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. Applicants must show capacity to manage high referral volumes, maintain adequate staffing, obtain required insurance coverage, pass background checks, and register as district vendors.
Compensation is on a reimbursement basis for services rendered according to district guidelines, with no guaranteed number or percentage of student utilization specified. The contract term is two years, ending June 30, 2028, subject to funding availability and yearly Board approval.
Selection criteria include organizational background and experience, alignment of services with student needs, availability across schools, cost-effectiveness, and commitment to student success. Proposals should address organizational background, services offered, staffing qualifications and plans, capacity, collaboration strategies, evaluation and reporting methods, and detailed cost structures. Services commence upon contract approval. Proposals should be submitted in PDF or Word format to Caron Hope, Project AWARE District Manager, at caron.hope@barrow.k12.ga.us. Decisions will be announced by July 30, 2026.
