About this opportunity
The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is issuing the Cycle 47 Program Development Grants, allocating $300,000 to fund one or more projects in the areas of Health (Tribal), Self-Advocacy (Plain Language), and Self-Advocacy (Isolation). The Council is seeking proposals from local government agencies, non-government organizations, tribal organizations, community-based non-profits, and established 501(c)(3) coalitions. Successful projects must demonstrate knowledge and experience in the relevant focus area, cultural competence in reaching and collaborating with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and other disabilities, and the ability to develop and deliver comprehensive, accessible, and culturally relevant programs. Proposals will be evaluated based on criteria such as project design, alignment with the state plan, target population, diversity and disparities, implementation plan, deliverables, outcomes, and budget. The application deadline is May 10, 2024, and projects will be completed within the Federal Fiscal Year 2024-2025 cycle, from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025.
The SCDD Cycle 47 Grant Program prioritizes projects led or co-led by people with I/DD and those focused on culturally, ethnically, geographically, economically, and linguistically diverse, underserved populations. Applicants from poverty areas are required to provide a 10% match, while non-poverty area applicants must provide a 25% match, which can be in-kind or cash contributions. There is no percentage limit on administrative costs, as long as the basic requirements are met. SCDD will consider all proposal submissions and choose one or more grant-funded projects that combined will not exceed the $300,000 budgeted amount.
