About this opportunity
The City of Lawrenceville, located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, is soliciting sealed bids for an annual contract (SB008-26) to supplement its Gas Department's workforce for on-demand installation of new gas mains and services. The procurement seeks a qualified contractor to perform installation of polyethylene gas mains and services in various sizes (2, 4, and 6-inch) using standard installation and bore methods. Approximately 30,000 linear feet of 2-inch, 10,000 linear feet of 4-inch, and 500 linear feet of 6-inch polyethylene gas main installations are anticipated, including associated valve installations, tie-ins, service taps, and rock removal. Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. local time on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, with the initial contract spanning one year and including four potential one-year renewal options. Contractors must meet specific qualifications, including maintaining $500,000 in general liability insurance, $500,000 in auto liability, and $1,000,000 in umbrella liability, and demonstrate compliance with federal work authorization programs.
The solicitation does not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Contractors must maintain an Operator Qualification program, provide a legally documented workforce, and adhere to safety and environmental regulations. Appropriate licensing and references demonstrating similar project experience are required, with contractors needing to provide documentation of worker eligibility and insurance compliance. While specific budget ranges are not detailed, the bid schedule provides unit pricing for each type of installation, suggesting flexible pricing based on actual service requirements. The contract appears designed to provide the City of Lawrenceville with supplemental capacity to expand and maintain its gas infrastructure, with pricing firm for the initial contract term and potential subsequent renewal periods. Interested contractors will need to carefully review the full solicitation document to understand the comprehensive requirements and submission guidelines.
