About this opportunity
The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC) is requesting sealed bids for construction of a box culvert bridge replacement project at 6229 Antioch Boulevard, St. George, Louisiana, with bids due October 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST and a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on September 23, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. CST at the project site.
Bidders must hold a Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors license in the classification of "Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction" or "Heavy Construction" and must cite their license number on the bid envelope and Uniform Public Works Bid Form.
The scope includes removal of an existing bridge crossing and construction of a new precast reinforced concrete box culvert crossing, together with associated headwalls, wingwalls, concrete pavement and sidewalk, drainage improvements, riprap, erosion control, and site restoration. BREC encourages participation by small, disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses as suppliers or subcontractors.
Electronic or paper bids are accepted; paper bids require a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or satisfactory Bid Bond equal to 5% of the total bid. Bid prices must remain firm for 45 days from the bid opening date. Complete bid documents are available for $10.00 on disk from the BREC Purchasing Department or in electronic format at www.bidexpress.com. The construction estimate will be read aloud at the bid opening, and BREC reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause.
