The procurement, identified as Contract #C1568008, requires a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to drill one new water well to approximately 400 feet deep with a 5-inch diameter cased well. The contractor must also purchase and install a new water pump motor (Goulds/Xylem, Berkeley/Pentair, or equivalent) and a new control box (Franklin or Berkeley/Pentair or equivalent) in compliance with California community water system well requirements. Bidders must possess a C-57 license and meet professional hydrogeologist/geologist licensing requirements. The formal bid opening is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2016, with project completion required within 90 calendar days from the notice to proceed.

The procurement offers a 5% bid preference for certified small businesses and requires payment and performance bonds for contracts exceeding $5,000. The project necessitates obtaining Coastal Development and San Mateo County Well Drilling permits, which will be secured by the state. The estimated project value is $75,000, with the bid package including detailed specifications for pump installations from Goulds/Xylem and Berkeley/Pentair. The contract includes specific bid components for mobilization/demobilization, air rotary drilling, well casing, gravel pack swabbing and cleaning, sanitary seal, well development and testing, disinfection, and pump/motor/control box installation. No specific incumbent vendors are mentioned, and the procurement appears open to qualifying contractors who can meet the technical and licensing requirements for specialized water well drilling services in a state historic park setting.
