About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on a sand blasting booth equipment package for installation at Maine Department of Transportation Fleet Service in Augusta, with bids due February 10, 2010. A Maine-vendor preference applies in case of tied bids under the state's in-state sourcing rule.
The scope includes a complete media recovery system with dual 9-inch augers, cross auger, bucket elevator with Dacron belting, rotary drum media separator, and media storage hopper; an ASME-certified 125 PSI pressure vessel; a 25,000 CFM dust collection system with 60 HP ground-mounted blower and 48 cartridge filters rated at 99.999% efficiency; electrical control panels; blast hose assemblies; and operator safety equipment. The equipment package is designed for a customer-supplied 30-by-40-by-13-to-15-foot enclosure. Installation includes equipment erection, ductwork fabrication and installation within 25 feet, system testing and performance verification, and three days of on-site training for a minimum of four blast personnel and two technicians. Delivery and shipping to Augusta are included.
Bidders must certify that they maintain service facilities in Maine staffed with trained technicians and stocked with repair parts, and must provide three complete sets of parts, service, and operator manuals with their proposal. Manufacturers' standard warranty begins from the in-service date; warranty terms must accompany the bid.
Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best-value considerations including price, quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, warranty terms, manufacturers' performance data, parts availability, and other factors the State deems appropriate. All exceptions to stated specifications must be clearly listed as separate line items; unlisted exceptions will be deemed vendor compliance. The State reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent and to reject any or all bids. Questions are due by February 10, 2010.
