About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Health, Division of Community Health Promotion, is seeking to procure infant sleep education kits that include 3D infant models with removable airways. These kits will be used by educators to provide hands-on safe sleep demonstrations, which is a priority under the current State Health Improvement Plan to reduce infant morbidity and mortality rates. The Department is requesting authorization to purchase the kits as a single source from Parkview Health System, Inc. dba Safe Sleep Simulation, who is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this specialized training product. The estimated dollar amount for the 1-year contract is $325,637.85. The justification for the single source procurement is that Safe Sleep Simulation is the only provider of this type of training kit that includes the 3D infant models. The solicitation is open for information from prospective vendors until August 30, 2023, at which point the agency will make a final determination on the single source award.

This procurement is restricted to Parkview Health System, Inc. dba Safe Sleep Simulation, as they are the sole provider of the required 3D infant sleep education kits. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and there is no information provided about any incumbent vendors or current contractors. The budget for this contract is $325,637.85.
