The state of Ohio is seeking to procure Safariland Rifle 36" Black Bags (Style # 4552-36) for task force officers to transport short barrel rifles covertly. This procurement opportunity (Contract ID: 68027a69bbf2ceaa9b03fd6c) is specifically designed to acquire a durable rifle transportation solution that optimally meets the tactical needs of law enforcement personnel. The solicitation was posted on April 18, 2025, with proposals due by May 5, 2025, indicating a relatively short procurement cycle of approximately two weeks. The primary objective is to secure a specialized equipment bag that provides maximum protection and discretion for law enforcement rifle transportation. Vendors must demonstrate that their proposed rifle bag meets the specified durability and functional requirements for covert transport of short barrel rifles.

While specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are not explicitly stated in the available documentation, potential vendors should be prepared to meet standard state procurement qualifications. The contract appears to be focused on a specific equipment need for Ohio law enforcement, suggesting a targeted procurement with potentially limited competition. No incumbent vendor information or precise budget range is provided in the current documentation. The procurement seems to be a direct equipment acquisition rather than a complex service contract, which may simplify the bidding process. Interested vendors should carefully review the complete solicitation details and ensure their proposed rifle bag precisely matches the stated operational requirements for task force officers.
