About this opportunity

Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) is soliciting competitive bids for the procurement of a HAAS VF-6SS Vertical Machining Center with thirteen line items of specialized accessories and components to support educational and advanced manufacturing programs at Warren Tech/Jefferson County Public Schools under the Colorado Helps Advanced Manufacturing (CHAMP) grant partnership. The procurement specifications include a complete 64" x 32" x 30" vertical machining center configured with through-spindle coolant systems, 4th and 5th-axis drives, wireless probing systems, high-intensity lighting, expanded memory, and high-speed machining capabilities. Delivery is required to RRCC at 13300 W. Sixth Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, and must include shipping, rigging, and installation services completed by October 15, 2015. The bid submission deadline is September 8, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. (MT) at the Purchasing Office, Room 1172, with award based on the most advantageous quote considering price and other factors. Bidders must be registered in the Colorado Vendor Self Service (VSS) system to download solicitation documents and be considered responsive, and all quotes must exclude federal and state taxes. Insurance requirements mandate workers' compensation coverage, general liability with minimum $1,000,000 limits, and automobile liability coverage with $1,000,000 combined single limits.

Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) enterprises receive a 5% bid preference if certified through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and either incorporated in Colorado or maintaining a place of business within the state. In the event of low tie bids, Colorado Revised Statutes preference for resident bidders will apply. This procurement is funded in part or wholly through federal grant funding, requiring all contractors and subcontractors to comply with twelve mandatory federal compliance provisions including equal employment opportunity requirements, Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wage standards for construction-related work exceeding $2,000, overtime compensation requirements at time-and-a-half for hours beyond 40 per week, anti-lobbying certifications for awards of $100,000 or more, environmental compliance under the Clean Air Act and Federal Water Pollution Control Act for contracts exceeding $100,000, and certification of non-debarment status. The procurement is conducted via purchase order with no formal contracts, and the College reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and award in total or in part. No alternate terms and conditions will be accepted from bidders.
