About this opportunity
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Division of Purchases is seeking bids for a Master Agreement Contract to provide right-of-way mowing, trimming, and litter removal services on various routes in McLean and Muhlenberg Counties within District 2. The successful bidder will be responsible for three full mowing cycles per year, with the first cycle beginning in late May, as well as trimming and litter removal on applicable routes. Bidders must be prequalified for the work items of right-of-way mowing and traffic control prior to the bid closing date. No bid bond or performance bond is required, but the successful bidder must provide general liability and workers' compensation insurance. The initial contract period is from the date of award through December 31, 2023, with four optional one-year renewal periods. Pricing will be on a unit price basis per acre mowed, mile of litter removed, and traffic control, and will be subject to a fuel price adjustment clause.
The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the best value based on the lowest price. Reciprocal preference will be given to Kentucky resident bidders. The estimated value of the contract is not provided, but the Work Location Sheet indicates the contract covers approximately 231 miles of state routes and 1,149 acres of mowing. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and no incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified.
