About this opportunity
The state of Pennsylvania is soliciting a small business construction project for a roof replacement at Building No. 6, Williams Cottage, located in Philadelphia County and Lower Burrell City. The procurement opportunity requires a comprehensive roofing system renovation that includes removing existing asphalt roofing shingles down to the deck on all sloped roofs and dormers, installing new heavy-weight architectural asphalt shingle roofing with manufacturer's warranty accessories, and implementing a low-slope SBS self-adhering membrane roofing system at the building's front alcove. Additional project requirements include replacing single-pane wood roof dormer windows with new vinyl double-hung windows. The bid is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 2:00 P.M., with no pre-bid conference planned. Bidders must obtain project documents by mailing a $15.00 non-refundable check to the Department of General Services in Harrisburg, and all interested parties must register on the state's supplier portal and secure a valid vendor number to access specifications.

The project falls under the Public Works Employment Verification Act 127 of 2012, requiring bidders to submit a Commonwealth Public Works Verification Form prior to contract award. The estimated project value is under $100,000 for general construction, representing a relatively modest scope of work.
