About this opportunity
The City of Amarillo is requesting bids on approximately 2,000 tons of rock crusher screenings for street maintenance under ITB 267-26 YM, with bids due October 15, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. via the Bonfire platform. A local preference under Texas Local Government Code Section 271.9051 applies to vendors whose principal place of business is in Amarillo and whose bid is within five percent of the lowest bid price.
The scope is crushed stone (NIGP #750 35) delivered to the City of Amarillo Service Center at 800 SE 23rd, Amarillo, Texas 79103. Bidders must own their own trucks with the capability to deliver within 24 hours of order placement as directed by the Street Department Director. All bids must be submitted as F.O.B. destination with unit prices stated in tons. The City is tax-exempt and will not accept bids including federal excise or state taxes. Prices must remain firm for the initial contract period.
The initial contract term is one year with four optional one-year extensions, contingent upon performance evaluation. Either party may terminate with ninety days' written notice. A $50 per vehicle per day late delivery fee applies for non-approved late deliveries. Payment is made only after complete shipment receipt and departmental verification of material compliance.
The successful bidder must provide proof of insurance compliance within ten calendar days of receiving a Notice of Intent; failure to do results in bid abandonment and re-award to the next lowest bidder. Submissions must include Texas Ethics Commission Form 1295, a Conflict of Interest Questionnaire (Form CIQ), and certifications regarding energy company boycotts and firearm discrimination compliance for contracts valued at $100,000 or greater. Bidders are required to conduct site inspections and inform themselves of all local conditions affecting the work. Proposals will be opened via Microsoft Teams teleconference.
