About this opportunity

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Central District is seeking monthly rental of a track-mounted rock crusher and track hoe excavator through an Invitation for Bid (IFB605CD19002657). The equipment will be used from September 1, 2019 through October 31, 2019, with delivery required to the Camdenton, MO maintenance facility by August 29, 2019. The rock crusher must have specific technical specifications, including a magnet to catch foreign metal, screening and recirculation capabilities, 2" upper screens, 1" lower screens, 3-bar MPR rotor, and extra screens. The track hoe must have a 22-ton weight rating and a minimum 42-inch bucket size. Vendors must be registered in the MissouriBUYS procurement system and can submit bids until May 30, 2019 at 10:00 AM CDT. The contract will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder based on compliance with specifications, with the potential for separate awards for the rock crusher and track hoe to different vendors. Liquidated damages of $250 per day, per item, will be assessed for late deliveries.

The solicitation encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with specific goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation through subcontractors, suppliers, or joint ventures. Service-Disabled Veteran (SDV) vendors are also encouraged to participate. Vendors must maintain specific insurance coverage, including commercial general liability insurance of $500,000 per person/$3,000,000 per occurrence, automobile liability insurance with similar limits, and Missouri workers' compensation coverage. The payment terms are net 30 days with free on-board (FOB) destination delivery. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the procurement involves monthly rental pricing for two pieces of heavy equipment. The bid allows for flexible proposals, with vendors able to submit pricing for either or both pieces of equipment, potentially enabling multiple vendors to be selected for the two-month rental period.
