About this opportunity

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) is soliciting a procurement opportunity for rock, ballast, and track mainline materials, specifically size 4 materials as defined in specification ESR-0642, with reference number 2095415. This procurement is located in Dallas County, Texas, and requires potential vendors to complete Bonfire registration to access full bid details. The contract opportunity was posted on September 13, 2025, with proposals due by September 17, 2025. Vendors must submit bids reflecting FOB Destination shipping terms, with freight costs included in the overall price. Strict delivery performance is critical, with DART emphasizing that failure to deliver materials at specified times could result in order rejection and default termination. Potential suppliers must adhere to comprehensive purchase order terms and conditions, including detailed invoicing requirements that mandate submission of triplicate invoices with specific documentation such as purchase order numbers, item descriptions, quantities, unit prices, and extended totals.

While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly stated in the available documentation, vendors must comply with DART's comprehensive terms and conditions, which include equal opportunity employment provisions. Payment terms are standardized at Net 30, with invoices processed 30 days from receipt or order completion. The procurement appears to be focused on railroad infrastructure materials, suggesting potential contractors should have expertise in rail maintenance and material supply. Though no specific budget range is provided, the detailed specifications and strict delivery requirements indicate this is likely a significant infrastructure-related procurement. Vendors must be prepared to meet rigorous performance standards, demonstrate technical competence in supplying specified track maintenance materials, and show capability to consistently meet DART's operational requirements for timely and accurate material delivery.
