About this opportunity

The St. Johns River Water Management District (the "District") has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the purchase and delivery of approximately 3,000 tons of road base material (coquina or limerock) to the Lake George Conservation Area in Volusia County, Florida. The objective is for vendors to supply the road base material to refurbish the travel surfaces in the conservation area. Bids are due by 2:00 p.m. on March 1, 2024, and the District anticipates completing the work by June 30, 2024. The estimated budget for the work is $95,000. Respondents must meet minimum qualifications, including having successfully completed at least two similar projects within the past three years with a value of at least $50,000 each, and having a minimum of three years of experience on similar projects. The District will award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder and reserves the right to inspect the material to ensure the quantity and quality meet the minimum requirements prior to award.

The IFB does not appear to include any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The document also does not mention any incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor does it indicate any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. However, the IFB does state that the material should generally meet Florida Department of Transportation Specifications for stabilized road base, but it does not need to be FDOT certified.
