Performance and payment bonds, each equal to the contract sum, must be furnished and remain in effect for the warranty period. A 5 percent retainage will be held from partial payments until final completion. Liquidated damages are $500 per day for failure to achieve final completion by the required date. The City is exempt from sales tax and federal excise tax; contractors and subcontractors must obtain exemption certificates from the Colorado Department of Revenue.
