About this opportunity
Slippery Rock University, part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, is seeking multiple prime contractors for the Rhoades Hall First Floor Renovations project (UP-2024-008), located in Butler County. The procurement involves comprehensive renovation work including exterior ramp construction, wall infills, aluminum window and door installations, interior demolition, and creating new student housing units with restrooms and laundry facilities. The project requires comprehensive upgrades to mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, with the General Construction Contract serving as the lead prime contract. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit are scheduled for March 12, 2025, at 1:30 PM, located at 100 Building & Ground Road in Slippery Rock, PA. Electronic bids must be submitted through PASSHE's ARIBA Sourcepoint by 2:00 PM EST on April 4, 2025, with interested bidders required to complete a free online registration process to access bid documents and submit proposals.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the procurement notice, bidders must register through the ARIBA Sourcepoint platform to participate, which provides bid privacy and supplier confidentiality. The procurement process appears open to multiple prime contractors capable of executing the comprehensive renovation scope. Potential bidders will need demonstrated expertise in higher education facility renovations, specifically in constructing student housing, restroom facilities, and performing complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades. Although the exact budget range is not specified, the project's comprehensive nature suggests a significant capital investment for modernizing Rhoades Hall's first floor. Interested contractors must carefully review the full bid package available on the ARIBA Sourcepoint platform and comply with all submission requirements and technical specifications outlined in the contract documents.
