About this opportunity

The City of Beverly Hills Public Works Department is requesting qualifications from trade contractors for prequalification to perform fountain equipment replacement at the Greystone Mansion forecourt fountain restoration project, with qualifications due November 3, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. via PlanetBids.

Contractors must hold a valid California C-53 Swimming Pool license or a combination of C-36 Plumbing and C-10 Electrical licenses — a hard eligibility gate. Applicants must document experience on a minimum of four similar projects completed within the last ten years, with at least one being historic in nature. Prequalified contractors will serve as prime contractors and coordinate with other trades as needed.

The scope encompasses furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and incidental work for forecourt fountain restoration at 905 Loma Vista Drive, Beverly Hills. The City will notify contractors of their prequalification status no later than ten business days after submission. Evaluation criteria address contractor history, organizational performance, safety and labor law compliance, and recent project experience and capability. Contractors with average gross revenues exceeding $50 million are subject to different scoring thresholds for compliance violations.

Insurance requirements include a $2 million general liability policy per occurrence, current workers' compensation coverage, and current Department of Industrial Relations registration. Selected bidders must provide a 10% bid bond; the lowest responsible bidder will execute 100% performance and payment bonds. Five percent retention will be withheld from progress payments.

Questions must be submitted via PlanetBids by 5:00 p.m. on October 3, 2026. The City reserves the right to adjust, suspend, or rescind prequalification ratings based on subsequently learned information and may suspend the prequalification process entirely if deemed necessary.
