About this opportunity
The City of Fort Worth is soliciting quotes for a laboratory autoclave sterilizer system for the Water Department's Centralized Water Laboratory under RFQt Reference #26-0316, with quotes due September 24, 2026. This is a one-time purchase subject to the City's Small Business Program under Ordinance No. 27832-08-2025.
The scope calls for a free-standing, single-chamber autoclave unit with 20-inch by 20-inch by 38-inch dimensions and 8.8 cubic foot capacity, capable of sterilizing bacteriological items, trash, and waste at temperatures ranging from 100–135 degrees Celsius. The unit must feature an integrated boiler steam source, programmable controller, incorporated thermal printer, automatic generator blowdown, and automatic idle shutoff. The reference specification is the Consolidated Sterilizer System Steam Sterilizer Model SSR-3A; bidders may propose equivalent alternatives from authorized representatives of other manufacturers, with equivalency determined at the City's discretion. All equipment must be new and unused. Pricing shall be inclusive of removal of the existing unit, installation of the new unit, training, freight, and all associated initial setup costs. Delivery is required to the specified laboratory address Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A minimum one-year full warranty on parts and labor commences upon installation.
Evaluation criteria include unit price, total quote price, terms and discounts, delivery date, testing results, special needs and requirements, vendor past experience and performance, and estimated costs for supplies, maintenance, and storage. The City will award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder whose price is reasonable and serves the City's best interest. Payment terms are Net 30 days unless otherwise agreed. Successful bidders must register for direct deposit. Quotes must remain open for 90 calendar days from opening. Vendors must complete IRS Form W-9 and the City's Conflict of Interest Questionnaire (Form CIQ) under Texas Local Government Code Chapter 176 and file with the records administrator no later than the seventh business day after disclosure obligations arise.
