About this opportunity
The City of Dunwoody is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from qualified firms to provide engineering design consultant services for pedestrian and bicycle accommodations with streetscape elements and operational improvements along North Peachtree Road from Dunwoody Crossing to Barclay Drive, with SOQs due September 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM. This is a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) project (PI 0021596) in DeKalb County.
The scope includes designing a twelve-foot shared use path and five-foot landscape buffer on the west side, a six-foot sidewalk and landscape buffer on the east side, corridor lighting, stormwater improvements, and landscaping at key intersections. The project serves as a primary walking route for Chesnut Elementary School and Peachtree Middle School and provides connectivity to neighboring parks and commercial districts.
The prime consultant must hold GDOT area class prequalifications 3.13 (Facilities for Bicycles and Pedestrians) and 3.02 (Two-Lane or Multi-lane Urban Roadway Design). The team must demonstrate additional area-class qualifications across environmental documentation, traffic analysis, utilities, landscape design, surveying, and related services. Respondent firms must have adequate accounting systems and current CPA audits where applicable, and comply with GDOT prequalification and audit standards.
The contract is anticipated on a Cost Plus Fixed Fee basis for preliminary engineering, with potential extension for construction administration and inspection services. Final contract amount will be determined through negotiation. The project timeline spans Notice to Proceed in FY 2027 through Let Construction Contract in FY 2031, with key milestones including Concept Report Management Approval (FY 2028), Preliminary Field Plan Review (FY 2029), Right-of-Way Authorization (FY 2030), and Final Field Plan Review (FY 2030).
The selection process consists of two phases: Phase I evaluates qualifications and resources (finalist notification expected in 2026), and Phase II requests technical approach and past performance from three to five shortlisted firms. A communication restriction prohibits respondents from discussing the solicitation with City staff except through designated contacts.
