About this opportunity
Burke County, Georgia is seeking an architectural firm or individual architect to provide architectural and design services for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application. The procurement is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for comprehensive architectural services, including design and inspection for local state and federally funded projects. Evaluation criteria will focus on project approach, timing, experience, quality of work, and performance capacity. The solicitation requires three proposal copies: two hard copies via mail to the CSRA Regional Commission and one digital copy submitted by email. Specific submission requirements mandate that all proposals must be received by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, with proposals received after 4:30 PM being automatically disqualified. The architectural contract award is explicitly contingent upon the CDBG grant being funded by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Interested parties must be technically qualified and licensed to provide design and inspection services for state and federally funded projects.
The RFQ identifies this as a Section 3 contract opportunity, which potentially indicates preferences or set-aside provisions for certain types of businesses. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed in the documentation, the project is associated with a community development initiative. The contract appears to be open to architectural firms and individual architects meeting the specified qualifications. Potential respondents must contact Nicee D. Long, Planning and Development Specialist, at 706-651-7301 or nlong@csrarc.ga.gov to secure the complete Request for Qualifications package. The procurement covers multiple jurisdictions, including Calhoun County and Atlanta City, though the primary focus seems to be on Burke County's specific CDBG project. The county reserves the right to negotiate contract terms, including scope, role, pricing, and staffing, and maintains the discretion to accept or reject any or all proposals submitted.
