About this opportunity

The County of San Diego is requesting quotations for one 2026 or newer, unused Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pro S Plus electric vehicle (RFQ 13288), with quotations due July 23, 2026 at 5:00 PM. This RFQ is reserved exclusively for local businesses — entities maintaining headquarters or providing the same or similar goods within San Diego County's geographic boundaries, a restrictive eligibility gate that filters the competitive field.

The vehicle must be Energetic Orange Metallic or Candy White exterior with Dune interior, rear-wheel drive, and include four keys/fobs and a 2-in-1 Mobile EV Charge Cable. The contractor must complete California DMV registration and register the vehicle to the County at 5560 Overland Ave, Suite 410, San Diego, CA 92123. Delivery is required no later than 120 days after purchase order receipt, with the actual delivery date provided within 30 days of execution. The contractor must provide status updates at 30, 60, 90, and 120 days post-purchase order. Delivery must occur Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM with 48-hour advance notice; the vehicle must arrive fully charged at 80% or above and with no dashboard error messages at handoff. The manufacturer's statement or certificate of origin must be provided within seven days of delivery.

Pricing must include all shipping and additional fees, with sales tax excluded. Line items include the vehicle purchase price, tire fees ($1.75 per tire for four tires), California DMV electronic vehicle registration fee ($37.00), and documentation processing fee ($85.00). Quoted pricing must be honored throughout the contract term. The contractor is responsible for all damages prior to County acceptance. The vehicle warranty does not commence until assignment by a County department, not upon delivery.

Evaluation criteria include price and performance factors: offeror experience, qualifications, technical approach, acceptance of the County's draft agreement, physical vehicle availability, vehicle specifications, and delivery lead time. Written questions are due July 16, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
