About this opportunity

The County of San Diego is requesting quotations for one 2026 or newer unused Ford F250 XL Crew Cab 4x4 with an 8-foot bed under RFQ 13431, with quotations due October 27, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., and this procurement is reserved exclusively for local businesses as defined by Board of Supervisors Minute Order 6 dated January 28, 2025.

Eligibility is restricted to offerors maintaining headquarters or providing similar goods and services from within San Diego County's geographic boundaries. This is a hard set-aside with no alternative for non-local vendors.

The vehicle must be Oxford White with a 7.3L V8 gas engine, HD vinyl 40/20/40 split bench interior in Medium Dark Slate, and comprehensive outfitting including all-weather floor mats, four programmed keys, spray-in bedliner, upfitter switches, Ford roof-mounted strobes, a 12,000 lb. Warn winch, platform running boards, gullwing crossover toolbox, Tommy Gate G2 Series liftgate, and a white headache rack. The county expects a 90-day lead time from purchase order issuance or contract execution to delivery and requires offerors to specify their quoted lead time and confirm whether the vehicle is in physical stock or subject to manufacturer order.

Evaluation criteria are price and performance factors including offeror experience, qualifications, technical approach, acceptance of draft agreement terms, physical vehicle availability, vehicle specifications, and delivery lead time. Pricing must include all shipping and additional fees but exclude sales tax. Payment terms are Net 30 unless more favorable terms are proposed. Vehicle delivery occurs Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at County of San Diego DGS Fleet Services, 5610 Overland Avenue, San Diego. The contractor must register the vehicle with the California Department of Motor Vehicles as exempt, provide status updates at 30, 60, 90, and 120 days post-purchase order, and deliver the vehicle fully outfitted with a full tank of fuel (90% or above), all keys programmed, and complete DMV documentation. The contractor is responsible for all repair costs and must remedy any defects within fourteen calendar days of identification. Questions are due October 23, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
