About this opportunity
The City of Holland in Ottawa County, Michigan, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Zamboni Sponsorship at the New Ice Park, seeking a corporate partner to provide financial support and logo visibility. The sponsorship opportunity requires interested parties to submit proposals electronically through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) website or via hard-copy delivery by September 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The selected sponsor will receive prominent logo placement on the Zamboni, 20 complimentary open skate passes, and the ability to host a private company event at the facility. The RFP outlines a comprehensive procurement process that includes phone interviews during the week of September 29, 2025, with a final recommendation to the City Council scheduled for October 15, 2025. Potential sponsors should be prepared to demonstrate their capability to provide meaningful financial support and community engagement, with the primary objective of supporting ice park operations, maintenance, and community programming.
The RFP does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types, suggesting the opportunity is open to various corporate entities. The sponsorship is structured with a projected three-year term and a total value of $81,000 ($27,000 annually), with a minimum bid requirement of $50,000. The sponsorship is particularly attractive given the new facility's anticipated impact, with projections of attracting 30,000 skaters per season. The Ice Park was made possible by a $1 million donation from retired educator Frank Kraai, who envisioned creating a family-friendly community space. Potential sponsors will have the opportunity to align their brand with a community-focused initiative that aims to keep user fees affordable and provide a valuable recreation resource for the Holland community.
