About this opportunity

The City of Fort Worth is requesting proposals to establish a non-exclusive agreement for aluminum, iron, rebar, and steel materials on an as-needed basis under RFP 26-0222, with proposals due July 23, 2026. A 30 percent Small Business participation goal applies, requiring that at least 30 percent of total awarded contract value be subcontracted with certified Small Business firms from designated certification agencies.

The scope covers structural steel (plate, tube, pipe, flat bar, round bar, square tubing, rod, fittings), aluminum products (sheet, plate, angle, flat bar, rod, diamond plate), iron products (angle, channel, pipe, fittings), and reinforcing steel (rebar, wire mesh, reinforcing accessories, ties, dowels, chairs, supports) for construction, maintenance, fabrication, repair, and public infrastructure projects. Vendors must demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience selling these materials and maintain sufficient inventory or supplier access to fulfill routine and emergency orders. Materials must be delivered within 48 hours of order placement to City-designated locations during business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding City-recognized holidays), with vendors responsible for unloading. All materials must comply with applicable ASTM International, ANSI, AISC, and industry manufacturing standards. Value-added processing services including cutting, shearing, drilling, rolling, bending, and custom sizing may be requested.

The initial contract term is one year with the option to renew for up to five additional one-year periods under the same terms and conditions, provided neither party provides notice of non-renewal at least 90 days before expiration. Evaluation uses a best-value framework with weighted criteria: Cost (up to 15 points), Small Business Participation (up to 25 points), Vendor Experience and Past Performance (up to 25 points), Delivery Capabilities and Order Fulfillment (up to 20 points), and Business Location within Fort Worth City Limits (up to 15 points). Vendors may request price adjustments based on the Product Price Index no more than once per quarter, with requests due at least 30 days before the effective quarter period; increases cannot exceed the current PPI rate. Freight charges are separately itemized; no freight charges apply to materials picked up directly from the vendor's facility.
