About this opportunity

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking proposals from architectural and engineering firms to conduct a full systems study of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems at the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Youth Development Centers (YDCs) across the state. The selected firm will be responsible for developing specifications, bid documents, and providing contract administration consulting services for the upgrades to the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire suppression, fire alarm, building automation, standby generators, transformers, and other related systems at the YDCs. The proposal response deadline is February 29, 2024, with a short-list meeting on March 7, 2024 and interviews on March 15, 2024. The selection process will follow the requirements of KRS 45A.825(8) for short-listing with interviews. The project budget is to be determined during the design process.

The Commonwealth encourages the utilization of minority-owned design professional firms wherever possible. The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. Additionally, the RFP does not provide information on any incumbent vendors or current contractors, or any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The RFP also does not list any award values or budget ranges for the project.
