About this opportunity
The City of Milton, Georgia is requesting proposals for inspection, preventive maintenance, testing, and repair services for natural gas emergency standby generators at four fire stations under RFP 26-FD01, with proposals due June 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST. The contract is non-exclusive with no guaranteed minimum volume; other City departments may utilize the contract at their discretion, and departments currently using other service providers may continue to do so.
Contractors must demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience servicing industrial or commercial natural gas standby generators, employ certified technicians, provide three similar client references, and maintain general liability insurance of at least $1 million, workers' compensation as required by Georgia, and professional liability coverage. All contractors must comply with E-Verify requirements.
The scope covers four existing generators—a 48 kW Generac at Fire Station 41, a 150 kW Generac at Fire Station 42, a 135 kW Kohler at Fire Station 43, and a 200 kW Cummins at Fire Station 44—plus potential future stations and non-fire facilities. Services include semi-annual maintenance visits, annual full-service maintenance with load bank testing, fuel system inspections, engine servicing, cooling system checks, electrical system verification, and automatic transfer switch testing, all in compliance with NFPA 110 standards. Offerors must provide pricing for semi-annual and annual full-service visits for each station, separate hourly labor rates for regular and overtime repair services, emergency call-out fees, trip charges, and a proposed emergency response time for critical failures.
The City seeks an initial one-year contract with the potential for three additional annual renewals. Evaluation criteria allocate 30 points for scope of work compliance, 20 points for emergency response time, and 50 points for pricing. Written questions are due June 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST, with answers posted by June 3. A site visit is recommended but not mandatory. Contract award is anticipated July 6, 2026.
